Prior to becoming a partner at the Iowa law firm of Carney Appleby Law, George W. Appleby gained legal experience as an assistant attorney with Polk County, Iowa, and an assistant city attorney in Des Moines. Mr. Appleby serves a broad range of clients with widely varying legal needs. He has extensive experience practicing in personal injury law, federal criminal law and commercial litigation law.
Mr. Appleby is licensed to practice law in the state of Iowa, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has defended numerous clients accused of crimes in both state and federal courts. Mr. Appleby handles all matters pertaining to criminal defense, including assault, drug possession, driving while intoxicated, domestic violence, theft, wrongful arrests and appeals.
