Kate Latham / Carroll & O’Dea
Kate Latham has nearly 10 years of legal experience as an attorney and previously as a law clerk in New South Wales. She has been with the law firm of Carroll & OÂ’Dea Lawyers since 2010. Prior to joining the law firmÂ’s team, Carroll & OÂ’Dea partner David Jones personally supervised and mentored Ms. Latham as she gained experience.
Today, Ms. Latham accepts clients at the firmÂ’s Newcastle office. She has a strong sense of compassion and empathy for those who were injured as the result of othersÂ’ negligent or malicious actions, and has a desire to help them obtain justice and compensation. She focuses primarily in commercial litigation and dispute resolution and is accredited in personal injury law. Ms. Latham has experience in the areas of car accident law, negligence law, product liability law and medical malpractice law. Additionally, she has a full understanding of insurance and workersÂ’ compensation law, which enables her to assist clients who received a workplace injury.
Ms. Latham has demonstrated a particular skill in negotiating and mediating, and attempts to help clients settle their disputes without the need to go to court. She is also prepared to litigate when necessary and takes pride in her ability to be a strong advocate for injured clients in the courtroom.
The law firm of Carroll & OÂ’Dea also holds professionals accountable for legal or ethical negligence. Ms. Latham has experience in the areas of legal malpractice and professional liability law. She is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
