At the law firm of Gary L. Shockey, PC, Mr. Shockey has gained nearly four decades of experience as an attorney in Jackson, Wyoming. He graduated with honors from Yale University in 1973, and went on to earn his law degree from the University of Wyoming in 1976. While in law school, Mr. Shockey served on the staff of the Law Review and participated in the Defender Aid program. He began his legal career as an assistant public defender before starting his own practice helping those who were injured by the negligent actions of others.

Mr. Shockey’s personal injury experience is extensive and varied. He has particular experience representing Wyoming clients in vehicle accident cases, which include commercial truck crashes, motorcycle accidents, bicycle crashes and pedestrian accidents. His product liability experience includes cases involving faulty consumer goods that caused an injury or death, such as defective vehicle parts or dangerous toys. He also handles workplace accidents, including those resulting from dangerous professions such as the construction and agriculture industries.
Mr. Shockey also has experience in complex matters involving recreational accidents, such as boating and snowmobile accidents, as well as medical malpractice and wrongful death claims. The medical malpractice claims Mr. Shockey has handled include such serious cases as birth injuries, surgical errors and misdiagnosed illnesses.

He has served as board chairman for the Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies and in the Casper Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Shockey also mentors new law students through the Trial Lawyers Association and teaches continuing education training to other attorneys at the Practicing Law Institute. When not in his law office, Mr. Shockey enjoys spending time with his family and participating in a variety of outdoor activities.
