Anna Frederiksen-Cherry is an attorney with Florida-based Vaka Law Group, and brings nearly 15 years of valuable complex litigation experience to the firm. She primarily represents personal injury clients, particularly in the areas of premises liability, medical malpractice, insurance company bad faith and wrongful death. Ms. Cherry also serves with other members of her law firmÂ’s team, dedicated to fighting the harmful and abusive tactics of Big Tobacco. She has extensive experience litigating personal injury cases, having handled more than 60 trials over the course of her career.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Cherry gained experience at several high-profile law firms in medical malpractice, catastrophic injury and commercial litigation. She has served as an assistant public defender for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, taking on complex medical injury and death cases. She also served as a trial attorney with the Major Crimes Bureau in cases involving sex offenses, vehicular homicide, cold cases and the death penalty.
Ms. Cherry takes pride in educating and mentoring other attorneys. She regularly participates in continuing legal education presentations, speaking on such varied topics as trial preparation and interviewing child witnesses. As a result of her dedication to outstanding legal ethics and client services, the Felony Bureau and the Major Crimes Bureau have awarded her the titles of “Litigator Of The Year” and “Professional Of The Year.” Florida Trend magazine has also given her the distinction of one of the state’s Legal Elite.
Ms. Cherry is admitted to practice law in the state of Florida and before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
