SUMMARY
James W. Carney / Carney Appleby Law
James W. Carney is the founding partner of Iowa law firm Carney Appleby Law. With more than 100 jury trials under his belt, Mr. CarneyÂ’s experience has given him the reputation of a dedicated, meticulous and highly personable trial lawyer. Mr. Carney primarily focuses on medical malpractice law and personal injury law. He also has experience in lobbying, governmental affairs, business law matters and civil litigation.
Having represented many personal injury clients over the years, Mr. Carney has nurtured a strong desire to see those who were hurt by othersÂ’ negligence receive closure and compensation for their suffering. While many personal injury lawyers treat their clients as case numbers to be pushed through in a strict routine, Mr. Carney refuses to work like this. He realizes his clients are human beings with real feelings and difficulties. The legal process following a serious injury can be confusing and overwhelming for clients and their families. Mr. CarneyÂ’s priority above all others is to put their minds at ease before starting on a case.
Mr. Carney employs the same principles when it comes to medical malpractice. His numerous cases involving people who were affected by a surgical error or doctorÂ’s negligence have given him an in-depth insight into how the medical system works. This includes the way insurance companies and health care facilities often treat patients during a medical malpractice lawsuit. Mr. Carney refuses to back down in a trial when companies attempt to intimidate the client into accepting less compensation than they need to cover their losses.
The law firm of Carney Appleby Law accepts clients throughout Iowa.
