Lara Piercy / Carroll & O’Dea
Lara Piercy is proud of her recent appointment as an associate of the law firm Carroll & OÂ’Dea Lawyers. She has handled dispute resolution and commercial litigation for the firm since 2009. She has particular experience in trust disputes, bankruptcy proceedings, equity proceedings and corporate law. Ms. Piercy also accepts clients in the areas of debtor and creditor law, legal ethics and professional responsibility, professional liability and torts.
A talented negotiator, Ms. Piercy is committed to helping clients resolve disputes without the need for a courtÂ’s intervention. She takes pride in providing cost-effective options for dispute resolution. She also knows when it may be in a clientÂ’s best interests to litigate. Ms. Piercy makes a point to remain accessible to her clients and provide clear and forthright communication to help each stage of the legal process proceed smoothly.
Ms. Piercy is admitted to practice law in the Federal Court of Australia, the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the New South Wales Court of Appeal. She represents both plaintiffs and defendants in court and tribunal litigation proceedings.
In addition to her responsibilities at Carroll & OÂ’Dea, Ms. Piercy takes on numerous pro bono cases referred by the Public Interest Law Clearing House Offshore Asylum Seeker Project. She has a strong desire to use her talents to help others in her community. Ms. Piercy also participates in the Australian Catholic University Clemente program to mentor, tutor and support disadvantaged university students to give them a better chance at completing their educations.
